2027 Wedding Planning Guide for Columbus Couples Choosing Modern Venues

Couples planning a 2027 wedding in Columbus should consider venue capacity, ceremony and reception spaces, included amenities, catering options, and planning support. Modern venues with flexible indoor and outdoor spaces can accommodate different wedding styles. Booking six to twelve months in advance allows time to compare packages, coordinate vendors, and finalize wedding details.

Planning a wedding in Columbus for 2027? You have a lot of decisions ahead, and the venue is usually the first one that shapes everything else. At The Wenbeck, we sit on the grounds of Little Bear Golf Club in Lewis Center, just a short drive from the Polaris Fashion Shopping District, major highways, and area hotels. Couples who tour us often tell us the same thing. They walk in, see the ballroom and the pavilion, and the rest of the planning suddenly feels a little less overwhelming.

What Your Wedding Day at The Wenbeck Actually Looks Like

This guide walks through what a 2027 wedding at The Wenbeck actually looks like, from the spaces themselves to the details that come included in your package.

Two Spaces, One Beautiful Setting

Most couples start their vows in our All Seasons Pavilion. It has heat, ceiling fans, ample outlets, lighting, and retractable glass doors, so it works whether your wedding falls in January or July. The pavilion overlooks a 3,000 square foot patio with views of one of the three ponds on the property, and our ceremony space can comfortably hold up to 225 guests.

From there, the celebration moves into the ballroom, which comfortably accommodates 230 guests for your reception. It has a large dance floor and a floor-to-ceiling projection screen if you want to show photos or a slideshow during the night. Couples can also rent the pavilion and ballroom together, so guests move from an open-air cocktail hour by the water straight into dinner and dancing indoors. The ballroom also offers upper balcony access, which gives you a different vantage point for photos or a quiet moment away from the crowd.

Chairs, Linens and the Details Included in Your Package

One of the first questions couples ask is what actually comes with the venue. Our house seating is now the Black Resin Bentwood chair, a clean, padless design that works with almost any color palette. If you want a more traditional look, the Gold Chiavari chair with white pads is available as an upgrade.

Your wedding package includes tables for guests, cake and gifts, along with polyester linens and napkins in your choice of colors. We also include a complementary hour of rehearsal time, complementary use of our house arches, and complementary ceremony and reception chair usage. Every wedding includes an on-site venue manager who meets with you and your coordinator about a month before the big day, designs your room layout, reviews your final details form, and runs your rehearsal. If you want more hands-on support, a Day of Coordination package is available as an add-on.

Your Bar and Catering Choices

The Wenbeck holds a State of Ohio Liquor License, so bar service happens in-house rather than through an outside vendor. Couples can choose a BYOB+ option where we source the alcohol, mixers, and non alcoholic beverages, one of four curated Drink Packages that include unlimited drinks and our first two bartenders, or a Cash Bar for Friday and Sunday weddings.

We do not prepare food ourselves. Instead, we work with an open vendor policy and a list of preferred caterers, including The Berwick, Creative Cuisine, L.A. Catering, City BBQ, Hudson's Edge, Milano Creative Catering, Metro Cuisine, Catering by Milos and Awadh Indian Restaurant. If you have a caterer outside that list, our team partners with Top Shelf Events to provide service staff, so you are not left figuring that piece out on your own.

A Timeline That Keeps Planning Simple

We generally recommend booking six to twelve months out, especially if you are eyeing a peak season date. Our event venue hours run Monday through Sunday, from noon until 11:59 pm, and your reception time comes with five hours plus an additional hour for load out. Our business office is open Monday through Friday from 10 am to 6 pm, though we can accommodate certain weekend tours for couples who cannot make a weekday visit.

Conclusion

A wedding day comes together one decision at a time, and choosing where you say "I do" tends to set the tone for everything that follows. Whether you picture your ceremony under the retractable glass doors of the pavilion or your reception filling the ballroom with music and dancing, we would love to show you around and talk through what your 2027 date could look like here.
